September 6, 2023, Alegria, Surigao del Norte – In a significant milestone for the Municipal Government of Alegria, Surigao del Norte, Department Heads gathered on September 6, 2023, at the Local Chief Executive (LCE) Confab Room to present the Risk-Informed Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP+) for the years 2023 to 2028. The visionary Municipal Mayor, Rene G. Esma, commended the dedication and hard work of the Department Heads for crafting a detailed and forward-thinking plan that will guide the municipality’s growth and progress over the next six years.
The Risk-Informed Comprehensive Development Plan or CDP+, carefully prepared by the various department heads, is set to serve as the masterplan for the holistic development of Alegria with much consideration of the Climate Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA). It encompasses a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, education, and disaster resilience. The plan aims to align with the municipal vision encapsulated in the hashtag #WealthandProgress.
Mayor Rene G. Esma, in his laudatory remarks during the presentation, expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the departments in formulating a plan that not only addresses the current needs of Alegria but also lays the groundwork for sustainable development in the years to come.
The Municipal Vision, as stated in the Comprehensive Development Plan, envisions Alegria as “THE ORGANIC RICE PRODUCING CAPITAL OF SURIGAO DEL NORTE AND PREMIER ECO-SPORTS TOURISM DESTINATION OF CARAGA REGION WITH GOD-CENTERED AND RESILIENT PEOPLE LIVING IN A DIVERSE AND LIFE-SUPPORT ENVIRONMENT, DISASTER RESISTANT INFRASTRUCTURE GOVERNED BY PRO-ACTIVE AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERS TO ACHIEVE WEALTH AND PROGRESS.”
The Mayor emphasized the importance of having a clear vision and a strategic plan in place to guide the municipality towards sustainable and inclusive development. He acknowledged that the success of the vision lies in the commitment of every individual, department, and stakeholder in Alegria.
The Department Heads, in their presentations, highlighted key strategies and projects outlined in the Comprehensive Development Plan, emphasizing the need for cooperation and collective effort in its implementation. The plan aims to boost agricultural productivity, promote eco-sports tourism, enhance disaster resilience, and ensure the overall well-being of the people of Alegria.
As the Department Heads look forward to the next six years, they expressed their optimism and commitment to working closely with the local government, residents, and other stakeholders to turn the vision of Alegria into a tangible reality.
