The Municipality of Alegria, Surigao del Norte signs Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Micompal Store’s proprietor Emalyn Gloria Sulapas Micompal as local supplier who can provide relevant supplies of goods in case of predicted and unpredicted disaster or emergency.

The MOA signing happened during the Joint Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for Infectious Diseases meeting on April 22, 2021 held at Women’s Building, this municipality.

During its 22nd Gawad Kalasag Seal In behalf of the Municipal Mayor Rene G. Esma, Municipal Administrator Rizaldy A. Esma expressed appreciativeness to Micompal Store’s support to LGU Alegria as partner local supplier of emergency relief goods and stockpiling of relevant supplies.

Meanwhile, LDRRM Officer II Johny Natad explained that MOA signing of partnership with the local supplier is essential milestone in the DRRM adhering the provisions of Republic Act 10121 known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.

“RA 10121 identifies the need for stockpiling of equipment and supplies as one of the critical mechanism for disaster preparedness. It is therefore a need to have partnership with business entrepreneurs who legally engage with various services in the municipality especially in providing the relief goods ready for disaster”, explained LDRRMO Natad
